Geography is such a wide ranging subject that we have covered many different aspects. Originally the group was set up because people realised that they did not know the answers to quiz questions such as the longest river, smallest country. From that starting point we explored deserts, oceans then countries starting with the UK.
We come from various backgrounds, some geographical, many not. We do use maps but we also use videos to help examine a topic. We have also had days exploring the local area.
The Geography Group meet on the fourth Friday of the month at members’ homes from 10.00 am to 12 o’clock. The group coordinator is Keith Downing who can be contacted on 01629733198 or email.
The photo shows a group of us on the Monsal trail looking at the location of villages and finding a real life fault line.
