Although libraries are closed for browsing (you cannot go in), it is still offering a book and borrow service.

If you cannot get out to the local library, you can still get access to e-books, whether you have a Kindle or not. Derbyshire Library Service offers thousands of e-books that you can borrow free without going in to the library. You can download free eBooks, eMagazines, eNewspapers and eAudiobooks to your computer, phone, tablet, or MP3 player. To use the service, you need a Library card or Gold card. A wide variety of BBC radio broadcasts can now be downloaded to listen to at your convenience.

TED videos

TED videos are available free on almost every subject under the sun. Over 3000 TED Talks are available from expert speakers on education, business, science, tech and creativity, We invite Group Co-ordinators to look for themselves and give us a list of any relevant ones so that we can post links on your Group page and you can then share / discuss them with your Group members. Equally there is a huge amount of material on YouTube that is searchable by subject matter.


Broadcasters have promised to make a variety of material available to viewers, including educational material as well as entertainment on iPlayer, ITV Hub, etc. Again, Group pages can be used to share helpful information and links.
