If you wish to discover more about the rich and varied flora of the many habitats that Derbyshire has to offer, then this group invites you to come along to one of our monthly walks. You don’t need to be an expert, as members share their knowledge and expertise in finding and identifying wildflowers along the way.

The group meets at 10.00am on the third Thursday of each month to enjoy a short walk in the flora rich Derbyshire countryside.We hope to walk throughout the year, but some winter meetings will take place indoors, depending upon the weather.

2017 programme.:

16 March – Cromford Canal/Lea for wild daffodils. Meet at High Peak Junction Car Park.

20 April – High Tor, Starkholmes for woodland spring flowers. Meet opposite Starkholmes Village Hall.

18 May – Rose End Cromford. Meet on Hawthorn Drive.

15 June – Woodside Farm Ilkeston (DWLT reserve) for meadow flowers.

20 July – Middleton Moor. Meet at Middleton Top Car Park. This is a follow up to our walk here last year.

17 August – Five Pits Trail, a variety of habitats. Meeting place TBA.

21 September – River walk following the Derwent River at Darley Dale.

19 October - Fungi forage venue to be confirmed later in the year.


We will also be asking Peak Park Ranger Stephen Bell to lead another of his popular walks for us in

early July, this will also be open to members of the MAU3A Garden Group.
