The Film group was set up at the end of 2016 and is for everyone who loves films but might wish to share their thoughts with other enthusiasts!

Members choose a selection of two to three films every month. This is followed by meeting informally to discuss those films on the second Wednesday of the next month.

We meet between 2 and 4 'The Duke of Wellington' public house which has a large car park - 115 Wellington Street, Matlock, DE4 3GX.

Local cinemas such as Cineworld - Chesterfield, Quad - Derby, The Ritz - Belper and The Northern Light Cinema - Wirksworth are available to us. Members are free to see the films individually or in small self-organised groups at a time and venue to suit them.

It is hoped that, as in a book group, members would opt to see films that they might normally reject, but could be pleasantly surprised and really enjoy them! Of course, if the film really does not appeal, no-one is obliged to see it, nor is it necessary to view all the films chosen for that month!
