For several years, the MAU3A Bridge Group has enjoyed a three day "Bridge Break" at Cober Hill Hotel and Conference Centre a few miles north of Scarborough.

This year, 32 members of the Bridge Group (and one husband) spent three most enjoyable days, from the 9th to the 11th May, at this beautiful coastal location.

The (very) social bridge sessions were interspersed with visits to the many local attractions, a 10 mile(!) clifftop walk to Scarborough, rides on the heritage North Yorks Moors Railway and golf.

Many congratulations to the winners of the three bridge sessions who were presented with the much coveted trophies:

Many thanks to Martin for researching and managing the Tuesday evening team event which involved complex player and board movements, the like of which have never been experienced by the Bridge Group.

As one player commented, ‘It makes Fermat’s Last Theorem look like child’s play!’. It all worked seamlessly.

Martin attempting to explain ‘The Movement’ to a bemused audience – ‘Look Martin, it says ‘ere ……..’

Our three exhausted organisers - ’Thank gawd it’s all over!’

Particular thanks to Janet Green, Margaret Rice and Anne Thompson for their time and efforts in organising the event on behalf of the Group.

A provisional booking has been made for the annual trip at the same time next year.
